It
seems like only yesterday
Your hair was golden hues
And oh that smile you flashed at me
I knew I must have you!
The cotton dress I wore that day
My hat was all askew
A silly thing from my best friend,
Something borrowed, something blue
My voice was shaking through the vows
But you spoke so firm and true
you made me feel, for every ill
I'd surely have the cure!
Time has bound us heart to heart
With kids and grandkids now
But when I look into your eyes
I forget that wrinkled brow

My
girlish figure may have gone
The way your hair did go
But sitting here with you right now
Is the sweetest thing I could know

Let's
sit and watch the river's calm
No need to make a fuss
Come on, let's split a sandwich
Don't mind sharin', it's just us
